Panchayat Secretary Arrested for Accepting ₹10,000 Bribe in Siddipet

Gaddam Raju Goud, a Panchayat Secretary in Komuravelli village of Siddipet district, was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹10,000. The incident occurred on a Sunday at approximately 4:40 p.m. at the Gram Panchayat office, where officials caught him red-handed. According to the ACB, Goud had demanded the illicit payment to facilitate the removal of a drainage pipeline that had been laid through the complainant’s private plot. The bribe money was reportedly handed over through Gollapalli Anjaneyulu, the husband of the village sarpanch, who was also taken into custody during the operation. The tainted cash was recovered from his possession. Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused acted dishonestly to secure an undue advantage while discharging public duties. Both individuals are being produced before the II Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Hyderabad for trial. The identity of the complainant remains confidential for security purposes. The ACB has urged citizens to report similar bribery demands via their toll-free helpline or official social media channels, emphasizing their commitment to combating corruption among public servants.
