Nullmax Unveils Cost-Competitive, FSD-Like Autonomous Driving System for Chinese Market
Autotech startup Nullmax, co-founded by former Tesla engineers, has unveiled its latest autonomous driving hardware and software package. The system utilizes a pure vision, end-to-end AI approach, enabling vehicles to navigate complex urban environments without relying on high-definition maps or LiDAR sensors. CEO Xu Lei stated that the solution is significantly more cost-competitive than Tesla’s Full Self-Driving software in China, with user costs estimated at only several thousand RMB. The technology operates using seven to eleven cameras and a computing platform capable of approximately 100 TOPS. Nullmax aims to integrate this technology into vehicle models by 2025, having already partnered with domestic automakers like SAIC and Chery. The company has accumulated ten million kilometers of real-world driving data and supplements this with AI-generated simulation training.
