Newcastle University and Ngee Ann Academy Launch MSc in Energy Management
Newcastle University, in partnership with Ngee Ann Academy, has launched a new Master of Science in Energy Management (Renewable Enterprise) to support Asia’s energy transition. The program aims to prepare graduates and professionals for leadership roles in renewables, sustainability, and energy policy. Responding to the rapid evolution of the global energy sector, the curriculum integrates technical knowledge of solar, wind, hydro, and bioenergy systems with business strategy and technology-led innovation. A key feature is the inclusion of artificial intelligence and data-driven methodologies, led by Assistant Professor Choong Zi Jie, to enhance skills in predictive maintenance and system optimization. The course, delivered by Newcastle-appointed faculty at Ngee Ann Academy’s Singapore campus, adheres to the university’s UK academic standards. It offers full-time (12 months) and part-time (24 months) options starting in September. This initiative addresses the growing demand for skilled professionals in emerging roles such as ESG managers and energy transition leads, reflecting the industry's shift towards sustainable technologies and AI integration in energy distribution.
