New 2.5-Acre Bus Parking Facility Inaugurated at Bengaluru's Kempegowda Bus Station

Karnataka’s Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy inaugurated a new 2.5-acre parking facility at Terminal-1 of the Kempegowda Bus Station in Majestic, Bengaluru, on April 16, 2026. Developed at a cost of ₹3.29 crore, the project aims to streamline vehicular movement and alleviate chronic congestion within the busy terminal premises. The site, previously plagued by potholes and waterlogging issues, has been transformed into a structured parking space capable of accommodating approximately 100 buses. The facility is equipped with 11 electric light poles for adequate illumination and includes a newly constructed electrical panel room. Dedicated parking zones have been allocated specifically for buses operated by the North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation and the Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation. According to Minister Reddy, this redevelopment was prioritized following public complaints about the area's poor condition. The initiative is expected to significantly improve operational efficiency for transport corporations while enhancing convenience for both passengers and staff members using the terminal.
