Narasaraopet MP Proposes New Railway Corridor and Train Services to Union Minister

Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, Member of Parliament from Narasaraopet and TDP Lok Sabha Floor Leader, met with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi on May 11, 2026. The primary objective of the meeting was to advocate for enhanced railway infrastructure in the Palnadu region of Andhra Pradesh. The MP submitted a formal proposal for a new railway corridor connecting Piduguralla–Savalyapuram to Ramayapatnam Port. He argued that this connectivity would significantly boost the cement, limestone, agriculture, and logistics sectors in Palnadu and Prakasam districts, while also improving freight transportation and creating employment opportunities. Additionally, Devarayalu requested stoppages for premium trains, such as the Secunderabad–Tirupati Vande Bharat Express, at Nadikudi or Piduguralla stations to assist local commuters, students, and traders. He also proposed launching a new Vijayawada–Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express service to accommodate growing passenger traffic between Andhra Pradesh and Bengaluru. The Union Railway Minister responded positively to these requests, assuring the MP that the proposals would be thoroughly examined by the ministry.
