'Mythological Office': Interactive Art Installation Offers Myth-Based Life Advice
The 'Mythological Office,' an interactive art installation by the collective Colectivo Mito, has been unveiled in Barcelona before its upcoming display in Venice. Resembling an old telephone booth, this contemporary oracle provides answers to questions regarding love, profession, and spirituality by drawing upon myths from various cultures and eras. Created by artists Enrique Baeza and Quim Bonastra, the installation is programmed with thousands of pre-recorded responses, intentionally excluding health-related queries to maintain a whimsical spirit. The project aims to reduce modern noise and encourage visitors to pause, wonder, and reflect on their lives through a hermeneutic game. Supported by the Fundació Lluís Coromina, the installation will be featured at the Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal in Venice from May 8 to November 22, coinciding with the city's art biennial.
