Mysuru Cycle Day Promotes Sustainable Mobility and Cleaner Air

The fourth edition of 'Mysuru Cycle Day' was successfully held in Mysuru on May 11, 2026, organized by the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) to advocate for sustainable urban mobility and improved air quality. Collaborating with international partners GIZ and ESAF under the Sustainable Urban Mobility-Air Quality initiative, the event emphasized environmental conservation, public health, and pollution-free living. Hundreds of participants, including cycling enthusiasts, students, and local residents, joined a five-kilometer cycle rally at Saraswathipuram. The program also featured 'Open Street' activities and traditional games, transforming vehicle-dominated roads into people-friendly community spaces. Supported by the Mysuru city police, traffic police, NCC cadets, educational institutions, and various government departments, the event highlighted the potential of urban infrastructure to serve social and recreational purposes. Organizers stated that Mysuru Cycle Day is becoming a significant platform for promoting clean mobility and healthy lifestyles among citizens.
