Multi-Center Cross-Platform Single-Cell Multimodal Atlas of Mouse Cerebral Cortex Published
Researchers have published a comprehensive multi-center, cross-platform single-cell multimodal atlas of the mouse cerebral cortex in Scientific Data. Addressing inconsistencies in previous studies caused by varying sequencing platforms and cohort sizes, this study integrates nine mouse datasets. The team performed platform-specific integration and analysis on 10x Genomics and Drop-seq single-cell and single-nucleus RNA-seq data. After rigorous quality control, 173,081 high-quality cells were systematically analyzed to characterize cellular composition, intercellular communication networks, chromatin accessibility, and functional properties. To validate reliability, the researchers conducted integrative analyses with cross-species datasets, identifying conserved and adaptive divergence patterns of cortical cell types across primates. This work establishes a standardized framework for integrative analyses across technologies and species, providing a benchmark multimodal dataset for neuroscience research. The study aims to facilitate deeper investigations into the molecular mechanisms and functions of cortical cells, overcoming previous limitations in data comparability and depth.
