Minister Narayana: 98% of Amaravati Land Pooling Farmers Allotted Returnable Plots

Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana announced that returnable plots have been allotted to 98.06% of farmers who contributed land for the Amaravati capital project under the land pooling scheme. During an inspection of nearly completed MLA and MLC quarters on May 12, 2026, Narayana stated that development works are progressing rapidly. He clarified that out of 30,753 participating farmers who contributed 35,017 acres, only 674 are yet to receive plots. Official data indicates that 63,295 of 70,824 returnable plots (89%) have been registered, with 7,529 pending due to litigation, family disputes, inheritance issues, or beneficiaries residing abroad. The minister attributed delays to these specific administrative and legal hurdles rather than government inefficiency. Narayana dismissed claims of failure to provide plots as political conspiracies and misinformation spread by vested interests, emphasizing that allotments were conducted transparently via a lottery system. He reaffirmed the state government's commitment to completing infrastructure projects in Amaravati and ensuring justice for all land-contributing farmers, noting that neighboring states are observing the brisk pace of development in the region.
