Minister Bharath Directs Kurnool Officials to Use AI for Potholes and Expedite Water Works

Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath convened a review meeting with Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) officials to accelerate urban development initiatives in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. Emphasizing the transformation of the city into a Smart City, the minister issued strict directives to eliminate delays in ongoing projects. A key technological instruction involved the deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify road potholes for immediate repair, alongside studies for necessary road widening to improve traffic management. The minister set a rigid one-month deadline for completing water pipeline works connecting the Sunkesula Reservoir to the Munagalapadu Summer Storage Tank, ensuring uninterrupted drinking water supply. Additionally, he ordered the initial development of six parks to enhance green spaces. Other mandates included expediting bio-mining operations at the Gargeyapuram dumpyard, procuring auto-rickshaws for waste collection, allocating land for an electrical substation, and enforcing strict actions against property tax defaulters. The minister also highlighted the need for improved infrastructure and water supply at TIDCO housing complexes. This comprehensive directive aims to modernize civic infrastructure and improve community wellbeing through efficient governance and technology integration.
