Madurai Campus Connect: Taekwondo Awards, Butterfly Research, and Placements

This report highlights three distinct developments in Madurai's educational and ecological sectors. First, the LVS Taekwondo Award Function honored student athletes, including Mano and Vedha, with medals and awards. The ceremony featured dignitaries such as Chandrasekaran of Makkal Urimaigal Kazhagam and was coordinated by the Madurai Taekwondo Sports Association. Second, researchers from The American College published findings from a long-term butterfly survey in the Kodimangalam Reserve Forest. Conducted between 2021 and 2024 with support from TNSCST, the study documented 86 species and nearly 47,000 sightings, identifying eight protected species and unique populations like the Black-spotted Grass Jewel. Finally, KR Arts and Science College facilitated campus placements through a collaboration with Vistharah Institute of Banking. Three students were selected as trainers for competitive exam coaching, subsequently undergoing intensive professional training. These events collectively showcase achievements in sports, environmental science, and career development within the Madurai region.
