MADITSSIA Urges TN CM to Expedite SIPCOT Estate in Melur

A Senthikumar, president of the Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (MADITSSIA), has greeted C Joseph Vijay on his assumption of office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. In a press release, Senthikumar urged the new state government to accelerate the execution of the SIPCOT industrial estate project in Melur, Madurai district. He proposed a strategic development plan involving the establishment of 500-acre industrial estates at 20-kilometer intervals along the Madurai-Thoothukudi corridor to stimulate comprehensive industrial growth in southern Tamil Nadu. The association emphasized that such infrastructure would attract small and new investors, transforming the regional economic landscape. Additionally, Senthikumar highlighted the need for further infrastructure upgrades at the Madurai international airport, specifically runway expansion, to make it a preferred destination for entrepreneurs. He argued that enhanced industrial infrastructure would generate significant job opportunities, thereby reducing youth migration and unemployment in southern districts. The press release also called for discussions with industrial bodies regarding electricity tariff concessions to support business operations and foster a conducive environment for industrial development.
