London Man Jailed for Stealing £2.2m Fabergé Set to Buy Drugs
Enzo Conticello, a 29-year-old man from London, has been sentenced to 27 months in prison for the opportunistic theft of a Givenchy handbag containing a rare Fabergé egg and watch set valued at up to £2.2 million. The incident occurred on November 7, 2024, at the Dog and Duck pub in Soho, where Conticello snatched the bag belonging to Rosie Dawson while she was in the smoking area. Inside were items belonging to the Craft Irish Whiskey Company, including the priceless jewelry set, an Apple laptop, and bank cards. Prosecutors revealed that Conticello sold the stolen goods to fund his cocaine addiction rather than intending to keep the high-value items. Although insurers paid out over £106,000 for the loss, the Fabergé set remains unrecovered. Conticello pleaded guilty to fraud and theft charges after being caught attempting to use Dawson's stolen bank cards minutes after the robbery.
