At its Tech World 2025 event in Shanghai, Chinese technology giant Lenovo officially debuted its first humanoid robot, named LeXiang No.1, which the company refers to as a 'silicon employee.' This launch marks Lenovo's strategic entry into the rapidly expanding sector of embodied intelligence and artificial intelligence. During the event, CEO Yang Yuanqing emphasized that intelligent agents will become central to the company's future business model, shifting perceptions beyond traditional device manufacturing. The robot demonstrated advanced capabilities, including performing a Tai Chi routine and accessing corporate data for real-time Q&A sessions. Lenovo’s CTO highlighted that the robot operates on three core intelligent architectures focusing on multimodal interaction, integrated local knowledge, and task autonomy, with security embedded throughout. The company also introduced a four-layer 'device-edge-cloud-network' architecture to support hybrid computing infrastructure. Alongside the robot, Lenovo launched several AI-enabled devices, such as the ThinkBook with a rollable screen and new Moto Razr and Yoga models featuring the Tianxi superintelligent agent.
