G. Lakshman Promoted to ADGP, Takes Charge as KPHCC Managing Director

Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer G. Lakshman has been promoted to the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and has officially assumed the role of Managing Director at the Kerala Police Housing and Construction Corporation Ltd. (KPHCC). The transition of power took place on May 4, 2026, at the KPHCC headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram, where S. Syamsundar, the Inspector General of Intelligence, handed over additional charges to Mr. Lakshman. Upon taking office, Lakshman outlined his strategic priorities, emphasizing the streamlining of corporate activities and ensuring the timely completion of housing and infrastructure projects dedicated to the police force. A 1997-batch IPS officer, Lakshman brings extensive experience from previous key roles, including serving as the Inspector General of Training. He recently played a significant part in the Kerala Assembly Elections as the State Nodal Officer for Training, where he oversaw comprehensive training programs for police personnel and contributed to the creation of the essential 'Election Hand Book.' This appointment marks a significant administrative shift within the Kerala police infrastructure sector, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and welfare facilities for law enforcement staff.
