Kukke Subrahmanya Temple Records All-Time High Revenue of ₹167.89 Crore in 2025-26

The Kukke Sri Subrahmanya temple in Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka, has reported a record-breaking annual revenue of ₹167.89 crore for the fiscal year 2025-26, marking the highest earnings in its history. This figure represents a significant increase from the previous year's ₹155.95 crore, solidifying the temple's status as the wealthiest among Muzrai temples in the state for the 15th consecutive year. The primary driver of this financial growth is income from religious services (sevas), particularly Sarpa Samskara, Naga Pratishthe, and Ashlesha Bali, which contributed ₹64.08 crore, accounting for over one-third of the total revenue. Additional substantial income streams included interest on investments at ₹49.11 crore and devotee offerings (kanike) totaling ₹30.54 crore. The temple administration reported expenditures of ₹85.2 crore during the period. Executive Officer Aravinda Ayyappa Suthagundi attributed the sustained revenue growth to increased devotee footfall, noting that visitor numbers remain high even during the monsoon season, a trend that has reversed previous patterns of seasonal decline. Since crossing the ₹100 crore mark in 2022-23, the temple's finances have shown consistent upward momentum, recovering strongly from pandemic-era lows.
