Karnataka Wildlife Board Declares 2,877 Acres in Kalaburagi as Protected Reserve

The Karnataka State Wildlife Board has officially designated 2,877 acres of forest land in Allur (B) village, located within the Chittapur taluk of Kalaburagi district, as a protected reserve. This significant conservation decision was finalized during a meeting convened by Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre on Thursday. The area was selected for protection due to its unique geographical features, including surrounding hills and lush greenery, which create an ideal habitat for diverse wildlife species. The reserve is home to various animals, including leopards, wild boars, deer, wild sheep, wild cats, porcupines, and foxes. By establishing this protected status, the state government aims to preserve the ecological balance and ensure the safety of these animal populations against potential threats such as habitat loss or human encroachment. This move highlights ongoing efforts in Karnataka to strengthen wildlife conservation measures and protect biodiversity in critical forest regions.
