The Karnataka Cabinet has approved the construction of 11 elevated corridors across Bengaluru, aiming to alleviate the city's severe traffic congestion. The project, spanning a total length of 75.6 kilometers, carries an estimated cost of Rs 13,262 crore. According to Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H K Patil, this initiative represents a long-term solution for urban mobility. Nine of the corridors will be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, while the remaining two will follow the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) framework. Key locations include Tumkur Road, Kanakapura Road, Hosur Road, and Mysuru Road. In addition to the elevated corridors, the Cabinet granted administrative approval for a revised estimate of Rs 436.44 crore for an elevated rotary flyover at IOC Junction and a railway overbridge at Baiyyappanahalli. Furthermore, a biogas purification system using sewage sludge, costing approximately Rs 85 crore, was also approved under the PPP model.
