Joint Collector Orders Immediate Action on Madanapalle Water Shortage

Annamayya District Joint Collector Shiv Narayan Sharma has directed municipal officials in Madanapalle to prioritize resolving drinking water shortages amid rising summer demand. During a review of civic services, the official emphasized the urgent need to expedite infrastructure works and strengthen water management systems across the municipality. Officials reported that fourteen borewells in key areas, including Ramarao Colony, Reddys Colony, Maruthi Nagar, and the Weekly Market, had dried up due to declining groundwater levels. In response, seven new borewells are currently being drilled and made operational, with plans to install additional units in other vulnerable locations. Beyond water supply, Mr. Sharma instructed authorities to conduct regular water quality checks, ensure the consistent attendance of sanitation workers, and protect municipal parks from encroachments. The administration is also intensifying ward-wise drives to collect property taxes and water charges. This directive highlights the local government's proactive approach to managing civic infrastructure challenges during the peak summer season, aiming to ensure reliable access to essential services for all residents in the town.
