ITI Students Showcase Over 100 Projects at Skill Expo in Kalaburagi

Approximately 1,000 trainees from various government and aided Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) participated in the State-level 'Technical Skill Competition/Exhibition 2026' held at the Government Industrial Training Institute (Men) in Kalaburagi on April 18, 2026. The event featured the display of over 100 technical projects, with significant contributions from the electrical and electronics, manufacturing, and automotive sectors. Gescom Chairman Praveen Patil Harwal inaugurated the exhibition, praising the students' exceptional talent and practical innovation despite limited resources. He announced that ITI graduates would receive preference for apprenticeship training and lineman recruitment within power utilities, while also promising efforts to secure additional government funding for institute upgrades. Entrepreneur Arun Kumar Loya encouraged trainees to pursue entrepreneurship rather than solely seeking employment, emphasizing job creation. Ravindranath S. Balli, Joint Director of ITOT, highlighted the necessity for stronger collaboration between training institutes and industries to improve employment prospects. The exhibition served as a platform for students, particularly those from rural backgrounds, to demonstrate their technical expertise and creativity to officials, faculty, and industry representatives.
