Iran's Supreme Leader Claims Victory, Demands Compensation After US-Israeli War

In a televised statement marking 40 days since the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei declared a 'final victory' against the United States and Israel. He asserted that Tehran 'astonished the world' during the conflict and vowed to demand full compensation for war damages and the lives lost. Although a two-week ceasefire mediated by Pakistan was agreed upon to allow negotiations, the truce remains fragile due to ongoing Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon. While Iran and Pakistan insist Lebanon is covered by the deal, the US and Israel dispute this inclusion. Khamenei warned that Iran's military readiness remains high ('hands on the trigger') if hostilities resume, particularly regarding the Strait of Hormuz, which has been effectively blockaded. Delegations from both nations are scheduled to meet in Pakistan to discuss ending the war.
