Innovate UK has officially launched the 2025-2026 Women in Innovation Awards, introducing significant updates based on community feedback. The program aims to support women founders of late-stage startups in advanced manufacturing, digital technologies, and life sciences. Up to 60 awardees will receive grants of up to £75,000, bespoke business support, and access to training and networking opportunities. Highly commended applicants will also receive business support. Since its inception in 2016, the initiative has invested over £11 million in 200 innovators and helped increase the proportion of successful women-led applications across Innovate UK competitions from one in seven to one in three. The awards address historical barriers such as funding access and lack of role models. Applications opened on November 26, 2025, with a submission deadline of February 4, 2026. These changes follow extensive roundtable discussions with stakeholders and the establishment of the Women in Innovation Community Forum, reflecting Innovate UK’s commitment to systemic change and diversity in the innovation ecosystem.
