India-Germany Climate and Energy Journalism Programme Launches with Cross-Border Grants
Clean Energy Wire and The Migration Story, in collaboration with the Heinrich Böll Foundation, have launched the India–Germany Climate and Energy Journalism Programme. This initiative aims to strengthen media coverage of the deepening climate partnership between India and Germany, which focuses on green technology, skilled workers, and critical minerals amid rising geopolitical tensions. Following German Chancellor Merz’s visit to India in January 2026, the programme invites fourteen journalists—seven from each country—to participate in exclusive online training sessions scheduled for late February. Participants will explore key topics such as industrial policy, energy shifts, gender dimensions, labor migration, and trade links including the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Upon completion, journalists will collaborate on cross-border stories and receive a €1,400 reporting grant. Eligible applicants must have at least five years of professional experience and provide a letter of intent from an editor committing to publish the resulting work. The application deadline is January 27, 2026.
