Huawei has officially unveiled the design of its first mini flagship tablet, the MatePad Mini, ahead of its scheduled launch on September 4. Marketed with the slogan “Mini tablet, maxi phone,” the device is positioned to directly compete with Apple’s iPad Mini. The tablet features an 8.8-inch OLED display with a 2,560-by-1,600 resolution, a 144Hz high refresh rate, and eye-friendly soft light technology. Designed for portability, it weighs only 255 grams and is 5.1 millimeters thick, allowing for comfortable one-handed use. Key specifications include the flagship Kirin 9020 chip, a 6,400mAh battery, and support for 5A high-speed networks. Notably, all models support SIM card calling, enhancing its utility as a communication device. The MatePad Mini will debut alongside Huawei’s second-generation tri-fold smartphone.
