Huawei has officially announced its entry into the ultra-luxury automobile segment with the unveiling of the Maextro S800, the first model under its new top-tier brand, Maextro. Developed in partnership with Chinese manufacturer JAC, this vehicle marks the fourth addition to Huawei’s expanding Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA). The Maextro S800 is a full-sized luxury saloon featuring a 3,370-millimeter wheelbase, modernized two-tone color schemes, and vertical daytime running lights. Built on an architecture supporting Level 3 semi-autonomous driving, the car aims to compete directly with established giants like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Rolls-Royce Phantom. With a pre-sale price ranging from RMB 1 million to RMB 1.5 million (approximately $137,800 to $206,700), the vehicle is scheduled for launch in early 2025. This move underscores Huawei’s ambition to move upscale in the automotive industry. The company also reported delivering over 500,000 electric vehicles through its existing HIMA partnerships with Seres, Chery, and BAIC since the debut of the Aito M5 in March 2022.
