Ghent-based technology startup Holmes has officially launched with €1.1 million in pre-seed funding to revolutionize software quality assurance (QA) for the AI era. The investment round was led by Syndicate One and included participation from notable figures such as Aikido founders Roeland Delrue and Willem Delbare, Showpad co-founder Louis Jonckheere, and serial entrepreneur Thomas Van Overbeke, alongside funds like NewSchool.vc, RDY Capital, and 100IN. Founded by Robin Praet, Robbrecht Delrue, and Sofie Buyse, Holmes is developing an autonomous QA platform designed to eliminate the bottlenecks caused by manual testing workflows. As AI-driven coding tools accelerate software production, traditional testing methods often struggle to keep pace. Holmes’ platform addresses this by learning product functionality and user interactions to continuously generate and update tests for critical user journeys. This approach allows engineering teams to maintain high release speeds without sacrificing product reliability. The newly secured capital will be utilized to further develop the platform, expand the product and engineering teams, and support the company’s rollout beyond its current group of design partners, aiming to automate essential but often neglected QA processes.
