Great Wall Motor Licenses Parts to Faraday Future for US EV Assembly
Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor (GWM) has reportedly granted a license to Los Angeles-based electric vehicle manufacturer Faraday Future (FF), allowing the latter to use imported auto parts for assembling its FX Super One model. This vehicle closely resembles GWM’s Gaoshan multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). The collaboration was detailed in a report by China’s Yiou Auto, which identified GWM as one of four Chinese carmakers partnering with FF under the "Global Auto Industry Bridge Strategy" proposed by FF’s founder and co-CEO, Jia YT. To facilitate this supply chain, FF is currently conducting transit trade for auto parts through Hong Kong and is in discussions with the Macao government to establish it as a transshipment hub. Jia announced these developments at the BEYOND Expo tech event in May. Additionally, Faraday Future stated that it has secured over 10,000 reservations for the FX Super One, a luxurious full-size all-electric van distinguished by an interactive LED grille known as F.A.C.E., capable of displaying images and videos. This partnership marks a significant step in FF's efforts to expand its manufacturing capabilities and market presence in the United States.
