Google Pixel 10 to Switch to MediaTek Modems in 2025
Google is reportedly set to significantly alter the hardware configuration of its upcoming flagship smartphones, the Pixel 10 series, scheduled for release in 2025. According to an exclusive report by Android Authority, Google will abandon its previous reliance on modem chips from Qualcomm and Samsung in favor of MediaTek’s yet-to-be-released T900 modem. This new chipset is expected to deliver superior performance compared to its predecessor, the T800, which was launched in November 2022 with peak download speeds of 7.9 Gbps and upload speeds of 4.2 Gbps. In addition to the modem change, the Pixel 10 series will feature the new Tensor G5 processor. This chip will be manufactured using TSMC’s advanced N3E (3nm) process technology, marking a significant upgrade in production efficiency and performance.
