Gajuwaka MLA Proposes IT-Tourism Zone and Bridge for Yarada Hills in Visakhapatnam

Palla Srinivasa Rao, the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Gajuwaka, has submitted a formal representation to the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) advocating for the development of a new IT and Tourism zone on the Yarada hills. The proposal, also brought to the attention of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, seeks inclusion in the Master Plan-2041. Central to this initiative is the construction of a bridge connecting the Port Venkateswara Swamy Temple in One Town to the Sagar Durga Temple in Yarada. This infrastructure aims to resolve current accessibility issues, reducing travel time from the city core from 45 minutes to just 10 minutes. The project targets the utilization of 650 acres of vacant government land, offering a strategic alternative to saturated IT clusters in Madhurawada and Rushikonda. By adopting a hybrid Tourism-IT development model, the plan intends to create a self-sustaining ecosystem with residential and commercial facilities, thereby boosting the local blue economy and generating employment opportunities in the region.
