Chinese automaker GAC has announced a strategic initiative to integrate humanoid robots into its manufacturing operations, marking a significant step in industrial automation. The company plans to begin trialing these robots across its car factories and scaling up the production of in-house designed components starting next year. This effort aims to facilitate small-scale production of the robots for internal use by 2026. The third iteration of GAC's GoMate robot was showcased at an event in Shanghai, featuring innovative design elements such as alterable wheels for self-balancing and driving. This adaptability allows the robot to navigate various terrains effectively.
