Aion, the electric vehicle subsidiary of Chinese automaker GAC Group, has established a strategic partnership with autonomous driving startup Momenta to supply Level 2+ advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). This collaboration marks a significant commercial victory for Momenta, following previous agreements with major industry players like BYD. The two entities aim to widely deploy the Navigated Driving Assist (NDA) function across Aion-branded electric vehicles. Leveraging end-to-end neural networks, a technology popularized by Tesla, future models will be capable of autonomous navigation in complex traffic scenarios. The all-new Aion V crossover, recently unveiled at the 2024 Paris Motor Show as Aion’s first global model, will integrate Momenta’s artificial intelligence algorithms. This move supports GAC’s ambitious target of achieving 500,000 overseas sales by 2030.
