Erode district has secured the top rank in the state for Class 12 public examinations, achieving an impressive overall pass percentage of 98.87%. The results, declared on May 8, 2026, mark the third time Erode has claimed the first position, having previously topped the list in 2014 and 2016. Out of 22,478 students from 221 schools who appeared for the March exams, 22,225 successfully passed. Gender-wise analysis reveals that girls outperformed boys with a pass rate of 99.27% compared to 98.42%. Notably, 128 schools achieved centum results, including 47 government institutions. Erode also ranked first among government schools with a 98.24% pass rate. Chief Educational Officer E. Manvizhi attributed this success to strategic interventions, such as identifying student strengths and weaknesses, preparing tailored study materials, and conducting special coaching classes. Significant improvements were also noted in hill areas like Thalavadi, where teachers from the plains were deputed to support Kannada-medium schools.
