Chinese urban air mobility pioneer EHang has officially launched the VT35, a new autonomous two-seat electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Derived from the VT30 prototype, this compound-wing vehicle is engineered for intercity travel across diverse terrains, including cities, seas, and mountains. The VT35 boasts a maximum range of approximately 200 kilometers (124 miles) and features a length of about 8 meters with a maximum takeoff weight of 950 kilograms. EHang has set the price at RMB 6.5 million (approximately $895,000) within the Chinese market. A key operational advantage is its ability to utilize existing EH216-S vertiports, such as rooftops, parks, and parking lots, facilitating seamless point-to-point urban transfers. The company confirmed that the VT35 has successfully completed transition flight tests. Furthermore, China’s aviation regulator has accepted the type certification application for the aircraft, which is currently undergoing airworthiness review.
