Dekra Reports Growth Amid Global Economic Downturn
Despite challenging global economic conditions and a slowdown in the European automotive sector, testing company Dekra reported stable business performance for 2025. The group achieved a 3.4 percent increase in sales, reaching 4.4 billion euros, while its adjusted operating result rose by 3.3 percent to approximately 275 million euros. CFO Wolfgang Linsenmaier attributed this resilience to gains across nearly all regions, with stable sales in Asia and continued expansion in vehicle testing markets in Europe and Saudi Arabia. Dekra tested around 34 million vehicles worldwide last year, reinforcing its position as the global market leader in this segment. Looking ahead, the company aims to increase annual sales to roughly 6 billion euros by 2030 through internal growth and targeted investments in future-oriented areas such as cybersecurity, AI certification, and sustainability under its 'Digital Trust' initiative. In Germany alone, Dekra created 600 new jobs, bringing its local workforce to nearly 24,000 employees, with a total global headcount exceeding 48,000. The company expects mid-single-digit sales growth in the current year as it diversifies beyond traditional inspections into high-tech certification services.
