CSI Kerala Conference Highlights AI and Advanced Cardiac Care Innovations

The Summer Conference 2026 of the Cardiological Society of India (CSI), Kerala Chapter, commenced in Thrissur, bringing together over 300 cardiologists and healthcare experts. The three-day event focuses on transformative advancements in cardiac care, including artificial intelligence-driven diagnosis, precision imaging, and minimally invasive procedures. CSI Kerala Chapter president Asokan P.K. emphasized the shift towards earlier risk detection and preventive care, highlighting technologies such as drug-coated balloon angioplasty, leadless pacemakers, and transcatheter valve replacements. A significant announcement during the inaugural session was the launch of the CSI–Joy Alukkas Free PPI Scheme. This corporate social responsibility initiative, in partnership with the Joy Alukkas Group, aims to provide 30 dual-chamber pacemakers free of cost to financially disadvantaged patients lacking health insurance. Each device, valued at approximately ₹2.5 lakh, features a lifetime warranty and MRI compatibility. The conference includes scientific sessions, expert lectures, and case-based discussions on topics ranging from structural heart disease to genetic cardiomyopathies. Additionally, ten cardiologists were honored for their academic contributions to cardiovascular medicine, underscoring the event's role in integrating experimental therapies into mainstream clinical practice.
