Couple and Associate Arrested for Kidnapping Sister and Husband Over Loan Dispute in Bengaluru

The Hebbagodi police in Bengaluru have arrested three individuals, including a couple, for allegedly kidnapping the wife's younger sister and her husband to recover an outstanding loan. The incident occurred on the night of April 14, 2026, at the victims' residence in Anantanagar. The accused, identified as Prafulla, her husband Saleem Sheikh, and their associate Beeresh, forcibly abducted Prithvi and her spouse under the pretext of discussing financial matters. During the abduction, the victims were assaulted, confined in a house in Nagarabhavi, and threatened with severe consequences if they contacted authorities. The dispute stemmed from a loan of approximately ₹9.5 lakh, of which ₹5 lakh had been repaid. Worried family members filed a complaint after the victims' phones were switched off. Police successfully traced the victims' location, rescued them, and took the accused into custody for interrogation. This case highlights the severe criminal actions taken in personal financial disputes within the region.
