JD.com Acquires Life Home Furnishings to Expand Interior Design Services
Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com has finalized the acquisition of Sichuan-based Life Home Furnishings Group, a prominent direct-to-consumer interior design brand, to strengthen its position in China’s home renovation market. The deal, which was unconditionally approved by China’s State Administration for Market Regulation, was officially completed on June 4. Founded in 2010, Life Home Furnishings operates the Lifeasy Décor platform and reports serving over 200,000 households across 25 major Chinese cities, offering services ranging from premium villa designs to soft furnishings for high-end apartments. This acquisition aligns with JD.com’s strategic expansion in the home sector, which began with the Home Improvement Festival in 2019 and continued with the launch of the JD Home channel in 2020. In 2023, the company introduced a self-operated renovation business, followed by the opening of its flagship 101HOME store in May, which promises one-stop services, fast delivery, and extended warranties. This move signifies JD.com's intent to provide comprehensive home improvement solutions, integrating online retail with offline service capabilities to capture a larger share of the growing domestic renovation industry.
