Civic Policy Forum Report Highlights Schemes in Coimbatore South Constituency

The Civic Policy Forum has released a report evaluating five major welfare schemes implemented by Vanathi Srinivasan, the MLA of Coimbatore South constituency, over the past five years. K. Annamalai, former State president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, praised the findings as evidence of accountable governance. The study focused on flagship projects, particularly those supporting women and children, including aid for girls who lost fathers during the pandemic and assistance for pregnant women. According to the report, which surveyed 1,000 beneficiaries per scheme in January, 98% of respondents provided positive feedback. Srinivasan noted that these initiatives were launched immediately after her election, despite lacking support from the state's ruling party, and emphasized that beneficiaries included members of minority communities. The projects are aligned with Central government initiatives. The report is set to be made available on a public forum, aiming to provide transparency regarding local governance outcomes and the effectiveness of targeted social welfare programs in the region.
