Chinese battery startup Inx has announced the development of a new solid-state lithium-metal battery designed for electric aircraft, marking a significant advancement in aviation energy technology. The company revealed that it has signed a supply agreement with EHang, a prominent Chinese drone and flying car manufacturer. The new battery boasts an impressive energy density of 480 watt-hours per kilogram (Wh/kg), which is substantially higher than the 200 to 300 Wh/kg typically found in liquid-state lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles.
