Census-2027 Enumerators Begin House Numbering and Data Collection in Telangana

Enumerators in the Indian state of Telangana have commenced the house numbering process for Census-2027, marking the transition from the self-enumeration phase which concluded on May 10, 2026. Following the initial three to four days dedicated to confirming House Listing Block boundaries, officials will conduct door-to-door visits for data collection until June 9, 2026. Bharati Hollikeri, Director of Census Operations in Telangana, reported that out of 564,667 residents who registered for self-enumeration, 514,038 successfully completed the online process. To address public concerns regarding potential scams involving impersonators, authorities have issued identity cards with QR codes to all enumerators and supervisors. Residents can scan these codes to verify authenticity via the official website. District Collector Hemanta Keshav Patil also emphasized the importance of this verification method. This structured approach aims to ensure accurate demographic data collection while maintaining security and trust among the population during the critical census period.
