Contemporary Amperex Intelligent Technology (Shanghai) Limited, the intelligent vehicle subsidiary of Chinese battery giant CATL, has successfully completed its first external financing round, raising nearly RMB 2 billion (approximately US$275 million). The investment consortium includes prominent firms such as Boyu Capital, Guotai Junan Securities, Cathay Fortune Corp, BAIC Capital, Shanghai STVC Group, and Fortera Capital. According to the company, these funds are designated to support the mass production of CATL’s innovative Bedrock chassis and to accelerate the development of next-generation chassis technologies. Since early 2024, the subsidiary has established cooperation agreements for the Bedrock chassis with major automakers including BAIC and Avatr, while also expanding partnerships across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
