Career Guidance Centre Launched for Plus Two Students in Tirunelveli

The District Collectorate in Tirunelveli has officially launched a Career Guidance and Counselling Centre to assist students who have recently completed their Plus Two public examinations. The initiative began operations immediately following the declaration of exam results on Friday, May 8, 2026. District Collector R. Sukumar inaugurated the facility, urging students to utilize the service for advice on higher education pathways. The centre is staffed by a multidisciplinary team comprising a headmaster, a teacher, a college professor, and a psychologist. Their mandate includes guiding students toward courses aligned with their individual interests, addressing psychological concerns, and providing information on securing education loans. Additionally, the administration has established specialized help desks at the Government Engineering College, the Anna University Regional Office, and Rani Anna Government College for Women. These desks are designed to assist students with the technical aspects of the admission process, specifically filling out and uploading online applications for engineering course counselling. Students can access the main centre's services by contacting the provided helpline numbers. This comprehensive support system aims to streamline the transition from secondary school to higher education for local students.
