Burgenland Governor Doskozil Discharged After Larynx Removal Surgery

Hans Peter Doskozil, the Governor of Burgenland and member of the SPÖ, has been discharged from Leipzig University Hospital following the surgical removal of his larynx. The procedure, performed shortly before Easter, was deemed necessary due to severe ossification of the larynx after numerous previous operations. Doskozil reported that he is recovering well, noting daily progress despite the need for patience as he adapts to a new speech prosthesis. Upon his release, he returned to Burgenland with his wife, expressing gratitude for the public support and emphasizing the importance of solidarity. He confirmed that he is managing his governmental duties digitally and plans to take adequate rest while adhering to medical advice. The surgery aims to provide complete healing and improved speech function in the long term.
