BIS Organizes Awareness Programme on Toy Safety Standards in Chennai

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) conducted an awareness programme in Chennai focused on the safety requirements mandated under the Indian Standard for toys. Held on a Thursday, the event aimed to educate key stakeholders, specifically toy manufacturers and retailers, about the provisions of IS 9873 (part 1): 2025 - Safety of Toys. The primary objective of the session was to encourage the widespread adoption of these standards within manufacturing practices. By ensuring compliance, the BIS seeks to guarantee safer products for children and enhance the overall reliability and quality of the domestic toy industry in India. R.
