Bengaluru Police Arrest Two Traffickers with ₹1.25 Crore Contraband

The Bengaluru Rural police successfully intercepted a truck and arrested two individuals, Ramyan Yadav and Sabir Khan, for allegedly transporting contraband valued at approximately ₹1.25 crore. The incident occurred on Thursday near Bannerghatta Road, following credible tips from informants. The accused, both natives of Chhattisgarh in their 50s, were working as the driver and cleaner of the vehicle, which was ostensibly carrying poultry feed from Chhattisgarh to Tamil Nadu. Upon inspection, authorities discovered 250 kg of ganja concealed within the feed sacks. The Jigani police took the suspects into custody and booked them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. During preliminary investigations, the accused revealed that they were tasked with delivering the drugs to a receiver in Bengaluru. They further stated that an acquaintance from their hometown had befriended them and facilitated the transport of the illicit goods. Police are currently conducting further inquiries to uncover the broader network involved in this trafficking operation and to locate the intended recipient of the seized narcotics.
