Beijing recently hosted the world’s first half-marathon specifically designed for humanoid robots, marking a significant milestone in the integration of technology and sports. The event featured 20 teams from Chinese universities, enterprises, and research institutions, racing alongside approximately 12,000 human participants. Tiangong Robot Ultra, developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, secured victory by completing the 21-kilometer course in two hours and 40 minutes, maintaining a steady pace despite varied terrain including slopes and gravel. The robot utilized an air-cooling system to manage joint heat and performed three battery swaps during the race.
