Autorickshaw Driver’s Daughter Scores 595 in Class XII Exams

S. Sandhya, a student at Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Ashok Nagar, Chennai, achieved an impressive score of 595 marks in the Class XII State Board examinations. The daughter of an autorickshaw driver and a homemaker, Sandhya attributed her success to disciplined study habits, including abstaining from mobile phone use, and the unwavering support of her family and teachers. Realizing in Class IX that scholarships were essential for her higher education due to financial constraints, she focused intensely on her core subjects, securing centums in accountancy, economics, commerce, and Tamil. Her father, R. Saravanan, expressed immense pride and joy, noting the significance of laborers' children receiving recognition. Sandhya also highlighted the extra efforts made by her teachers, who provided special tests, cleared doubts at any time, and offered financial assistance. Motivated by healthy competition with her studious brother, she exceeded her own expectations of scoring around 585 marks. Having already enrolled in the foundation course, Sandhya aims to become a Chartered Accountant, hoping to bring further pride and joy to her family who have sacrificed significantly for her education.
