Autorickshaw Driver Dies, Three Women Injured in Tenkasi Accident

An autorickshaw driver, identified as 60-year-old Ibrahim from Kadayanallur, was killed and three female passengers were injured after their vehicle overturned in Tenkasi. The incident occurred on a Sunday afternoon while the driver was transporting the passengers from Kadayanallur to Tenkasi. According to police reports, the accident was triggered when a stray dog suddenly crossed the road at Kuththukkalvalasai. In an attempt to avoid hitting the animal, Ibrahim lost control of the autorickshaw, causing it to capsize. All occupants were initially rushed to the Tenkasi Government Hospital for treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, particularly grievous bleeding, Ibrahim was referred to the Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Monday. The Tenkasi police have officially registered a case regarding the fatal accident. This tragic event highlights the risks associated with sudden obstacles on rural roads and the immediate emergency response protocols involving local and specialized medical facilities in the region.
