Assistant Divisional Engineer Arrested for Taking ₹30,000 Bribe in Nalgonda

An Assistant Divisional Engineer (ADE) named Sirikonda Saidulu was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Nalgonda district on April 16, 2026. The officer was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹30,000 from a complainant. The illicit payment was demanded in exchange for processing and clearing an official bill worth ₹10 lakh related to electrical restoration works. The underlying project involved repairs to a 33/11 kV power line connected to the Kambalapally substation, which had been damaged during a storm on October 29, 2025. Saidulu, who was serving in Devarakonda at the time of the incident, allegedly insisted on the bribe to facilitate the forwarding of the bill for payment. This arrest highlights ongoing efforts by local authorities to combat corruption within public utility departments. The ACB conducted the operation based on a complaint filed by the victim, leading to the immediate detention of the accused officer.
