Arcanaut Studios Recruits Ex-BioWare and KOTOR Talent for Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic
Arcanaut Studios, the newly founded developer behind the upcoming Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, is rapidly expanding its team with veteran talent from BioWare and the original Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR). Following the recent appointment of Ubisoft veteran Pascal Blanché as art director, the studio has updated its website to reveal key creative hires. Ryan Hoyle, who worked on KOTOR and Mass Effect, joins as Chief Technology Officer. Caroline Livingstone, a BioWare veteran from Neverwinter Nights, KOTOR, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age, serves as Production and Performance Director. Melanie Faulknor, formerly of Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age, takes the role of Director of External Development, while Dan Fessenden, another KOTOR contributor, joins as Senior Technical Designer. Project leader Casey Hudson, who directed the original KOTOR and Mass Effect trilogy, leads the initiative. Although no release date is set, Hudson has promised the game will launch before 2030. This recruitment drive signals strong industry confidence in the project, distinguishing it from the separate KOTOR remake currently in development at Saber Interactive. Details regarding story, canonicity, and gameplay remain undisclosed.
